Flowers are at their best when they are in season — fresher, longer-lasting and more vibrant. That is why every House of Gul box comes in four seasonal versions. Here is what the year looks like in Jaipur.
Winter (December – January)
Winter is Jaipur's richest flower season. Roses are at their finest in the cool weather, and local chrysanthemums — known here as shevanti — are everywhere. Deep red and white roses with fresh greens make our winter boxes feel classic and cosy.
Spring (February – March)
As the weather softens, the palette turns gentle: blush and white roses, pink gerberas and soft spray chrysanthemums. It is the season of Basant and Holi, and of fresh beginnings.
Summer (April – August)
The heat calls for bright, cheerful flowers that can take the warmth: sunflowers, yellow roses, white daisies and golden button chrysanthemums. Summer is also when fragrant tuberose (rajnigandha) is at its best.
Autumn and the festive season (September – November)
Navratri and Diwali bring warm, glowing colours: peach-orange and golden roses, yellow chrysanthemums and, of course, marigolds everywhere. Our autumn boxes are designed for festive visits and blessings.
Why seasonal flowers are better
Flowers that are in season travel less, arrive fresher and last longer in your vase. They also tend to be at their most beautiful — the colours are richer and the petals fuller.
Available all year
Some favourites are grown in greenhouses and stay available through the year: roses in most colours, carnations, gypsophila, limonium, solidago and orchids. These form the heart of our arrangements, while the seasonal blooms change with the calendar.
